Tissue banking training courses - polish experience

Персонал, непосредственно вовлеченный в спонсорство, приобретение, тестирование, обработку, сохранение, хранение и распределение человеческих тканей и клеток, должен быть соответственно квалифицирован, а также своевременно и соответствующим образом обучен согласно директивам ЕС. В течение 2006 и 2007 годов были проведены первые учебные курсы по деятельности тканевых банков, в соответствии и согласно проекту TF 200. Наш опыт в развитии учебной системы для профессионалов участвующих в работе тканевых банков может быть полезным в создании общей программы обучения ЕАТВ и возможной будущей европейской сертификации в сотрудничестве с Европейской комиссией.


Aim. Personnel directly involved in the donation, procurement, testing, processing, preservation, storage and distribution of human tissues and cells should be appropriately quali tied and provided with timely and relevant training according to EU directives. In the time of new tissue and cells regulations implementation no such a training system existed in Poland.

Material and methods. The first training program outlines for various groups of health professionals engaged in tissue banking practice was created in co-operation with the Institute for LifeLong Learning at University of Barcelona in 2006, financially supported by EU Transition Facility Programme. Then, in 2007, based on previous experience and experience of Polish tissue banking staff, training courses are created. This training program was financially supported by the national transplantation program - Polgraft 2006-2009.

Results and discussion. During 2006 and 2007 first set of tissue banking trainings were performed according to TF 2004 project. Over 200 pathologists, forensic medicine specialists and other medical doctors responsible for donor screening and classification, medical directors of tissue establishments, technical staff; tissue graft users: orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, cardiosurgeons and ophtalmologists were trained. Since 2007 training programmes, supported by Polgraft 2006-2009 for organs and tissue coordinators, personnel involved in donor screening, procurement teams, tissue banking management and technical staff are organised. In 2009 first practical courses for tissue banking staff are provided in our tissue bank in certain clean (B and С class) rooms.

Conclusion. Our experience in development of training system for tissue bank professionals may be helpful in creation of common EATB training programme and possible future European Certification in cooperation with European Comission.
